Although on further investigation there is point #12 here, which rather puts a dampener on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:EXTERNAL#Links_normally_to_be_avoided Hmmm. I see your problem. I'm tempted to say that the "normally" might give you wiggle room. And to avoid the problem of the Wikia content changing I assume it's possible to link to a specific page version.
