Indeed, it must be challenging to serve as general counsel for an organization as diverse as the Wikimedia Foundation. As far as I understand, the majority of the legal team's work is done “behind-the-scenes”. They make it their full-time job to respond to complicated and serious issues and defending the movement in an area that not many community members are able to fully observe. In this sense, I can imagine it to be quite thankless at times, one that requires a dedicated, passionate, and committed person to perform.
