Hi Rod, That was indeed me... we did do a bit of work with the BL MSS department (the great work was done before I came, though - John Byrne and his work on the Cuthbert Gospel). I think I could probably persuade someone to do a review and feedback, especially if we've done a chunk of the reworking before then.
Someone looked at the MC article some years ago with a view to reworking it - there's some detailed notes in Archive 2 which seem to be the discussion I remember. There appears to be a lot of tension between "MC as historic event/artifact", "MC as legal history", and "MC as living law", all of which are dealt with in the article but may not sit comfortably against each other.
