Maybe we will end up with an even better paradigm thanks to Git (I personally think we will), but SVN is perfectly capable of supporting something better than the ad-hoc non-paradigm we have now. But more on that in its own thread, in its own time. I'd start a discussion about this if I weren't so busy right now.
