Chad, Brion, I appologize for making it sound like you speak for the Foundation's direction when it comes to MediaWiki. You don't and I understand that. You both have important voices that have a strong influence on the direction of the conversation, though, which is why I responded the way I did. More than anything, I would like some real data from non-WMF users of MW. Wikitech-l isn't the right place to get that data, so I want to avoid giving the idea that the decision to drop support for shared hosting has been made. I think I've accomplished that, so I'll stand down now while I look for a way to get the data I want. -- Mark A.
