True, but considering the fact that we had three candidates, this is the
most appropriate choice we could make.

It is reasonable to expect that Wikimedia mentors eligible to a GSoC
Reunion ticket including flight and accommodation will follow GSoC news and
wikitech-l, and will be proactive communicating their interest and asking
the questions they have.

Communication can always be better but I don't think in this case was bad
for mentors in the loop:

# in May, there was an "Introducing the 10 year Google Summer of Code
Reunion!" announcement sent by Google, followed by reminders and
discussions in the GSoC mentors list

# in June, there was in wikitech-l an "IMPORTANT: GSoC & OPW mid-term
evaluations" email with a first line that said "(If you are a Google Summer
of Code mentor, read till #The_end)".

# in July, there was a "Mentors participating in GSoC Reunion..." reminder

# and in general, watching
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Talk:Mentorship_programs/Possible_mentors is
useful

Google's announcements point to
https://sites.google.com/site/gsocmentorsummitstudentreunion/home . If
mentors have questions, they can always ask here or at the mentors list.

Anyway, it is indeed too late now for any changes. Ideas for improvement in
2015 are welcome.
