Here is my last exchange with a Symantec Product Support Analyst with his
comments
in "quotes" after I indicated I had identified the source of the problem which
I've been dealing with for the last four months. <very big sigh>

"I am sorry, I was aware of this issue with the Kaspersky AntiVirus program. I
thought you were using Norton AntiVirus."

You never asked and I didn't know this was a problem. btw, there is no
strong/real
reason for not using NAV other than I already had Kaspersky on my system when I
first started looking at Ghost 9.

"A computer should never have 2 AntiVirus programs installed on it. Having 2
AntiVirus programs installed on a system usually causes problems. And at times
Windows will not even be able to boot to normal mode."

Craig, I didn't have two AV programs on my system. I only installed NAV last
night
when I discovered what the problem was.... So the problem, as I see it, is not
that I have two AV programs (which I didn't/don't have) but that there is some
sort of conflict between Kaspersky AV and Ghost 9.

Since I've been successfully using Kaspersky for some months now without a
problem
with other programs, there must be some sort of setting or conflict between
what/how things are monitored in KAV and G9. I've exited out of Kaspersky AV
before shutdown but this hasn't worked. Any other thoughts or do you want to
close
this matter? It would be nice if we could come up with a solution for Symantec
KnowledgeBase.
