It depends on how you like doing things like that and how many email
addresses you've got, I guess. I just set up a new 'forwarding' address
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and to my view, it would be WAY more bother than
it is worth to set up a whole new POP box for a mail alias that'll get
maybe a message a month. Ditto for things like
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" [neither of which
has ever gotten an email message, probably never will, but are required
email addresses].

If you have a very simple email world, then it isn't so bad [or if you're
VERY tolerant of lots of admin overhead]. Most folk I know, for example,
haven't bothered setting up their 'alumni' and other forwarding-addresses
to separate POP boxes from their main addresses -- so not just me, but my
"circle" of acquaintances mostly doesn't worry much about the 1<->1'ness.
(and keeping the 1<->1 setup gets worse when you get a domain [or several
domains] of your own and the number of possible-email addresses starts
getting into serious numbers).

Given that I now understand what the issues here are, I'm pretty sure you
*cannot* do what you want with Pegasus... you can certainly set up all
the identities you want and have as many POP boxes as you want and have
them separately polled (or all polled together or whatever), but there's
no machinery I know of that automatically tags or sorts incoming email
based on which POP account was used to fetch the email [and so your work
in keeping all the extra POP accounts would, basically, be for naught
with Pegasus].
