In DOS you are already at the console. No separate text editor is
needed. The command "Copy Con". Means just that, copy anything
typed in, at the console. The file name following the command is
simply the name under which you want whatever you typed to be stored.

Yes there are a number of reserved words in DOS/WIN that don't apply
in other operating systems. At this point I was going to give a URL
to a list...... Trouble is, I can't find it.... Anybody ?
