Not entirely correct.  Two of my thumb drives have a little switch on 
them which prevents erasure,  and all of them have a secure data 
utility, which prevents reading or writing without a password.  I 
belive one of them also had a PGP utility as well.  In the UK SD is a 
little more expensive than CF.
