IMHO you would be better to go with Norton Antivirus...
Well, IMHO, if she's ready to chuck McAfee and get something else anyway, go with Free AVG. I've been using it for months and it seems to work just as well. There's also a pro version that's about $33 that has a few more bells and whistles, but I find the Free version more than adequate.
I think the last time I used McAfee was about 10 years ago when I bought my first Pentium and it came pre-installed. The next computer I bought came with NAV and it worked well. If you want to stick with one of the major programs, that's probably what I would recommend, too. Although I have heard of some people having problems with the latest versions, since they started using product activation. The last version I used was NAV 2003.
