So does the client data getting into the wrong hands

Put the keys in a safety deposit box and document this fact, pretty simple 
actually.

All my critical data is encrypted, if my laptop gets stolen or lost, I have 
no concerns about the bad guys being able to access the critical data. Same 
with my desktop.  That is unless they track me down and torture me for the 
passphrase <shrug>.
