Dunno about the log files, but if I run tcpview it shows two ports active 
on:

svchost.exe:880 UDP     fantasy-bernie:ntp      *:*             
svchost.exe:880 UDP     FANTASY-BERNIE:ntp      *:*             

And so it is probably on the right port...

Aha...  I just tried it three more times: got a timeout, and unspecified 
"error occurred".. and... *success*.  So changing to the 'pool' seems to 
have done the trick.
