This has been the problem all along. When I do check it I get an
error message saying that it can't put it on the taskbar because the
volume control program isn't installed. It says to go to the control
panel and use "add/romove programs" to install it.
I was hoping that we were fixing the add/remove programs so you could
install it.
So, the question is: What does one install? What is the file or
whatever, called?
You're putting the cart before the horse. Once the add/remove programs is
fixed so you can see Multimedia/Sound Volume then it will AUTOMAGICALLY
install the appropriate files from your Windows CD if you put a check in
front of the Sound Volume & say ok all the way back to the desktop. By the
time you get to the desktop Windows will ask you for the Windows CD then
you can tell it you can't find it. ;-)
