That is the WAN IP & <http://www.whatismyip.com/> will get you the same
info but I think she's talking about the LAN IP address. In both 98 & XP
right click Network Neighborhood then click properties but from there is
differs some. In Xp you need to right click the specific network connection
that you want to inquire about & select properties again now in XP & 98 dbl
click the TCP/IP connection in the popup window & you'll see the LAN IP
which defaults to "Obtain ip address automatically". Check "Use the
following address" & enter the data as needed. IIRC she's using ME & I
don't know the exact way to get there but it should be very similar.
