Can't you clone the NIC card address into the Router (on setup screens)
and have the Router "then" appear as the original one and only PC?
Mine has that feature, but with MY ISP -- DSL, they do not care
what NIC is connected...
They not only supply the equipment, (I'm using my own since I joined early),
but support networking to a limited degree for their own stuff...
(I think their support stinks.)

Of course you are correct about the ISP not knowing if one or two or more
PCs are connected to the Internet via a Router.
I should have explained that when installing a Router, it is most often
necessary to contact the ISP since the they can see the Router from their
end. They know it's a Router (or at least my ISP does) and assume the
customer has installed the Router to connect more than one PC so they
charge a nominal rate for a second PC. In my case that is $9.95/ month
Canadian.
I maintained that I installed the Router for firewall protection (which is
true) and only use it for a second PC if I'm changing over systems or
servicing a friends PC - so they don't charge me.
