Since you obviously have problems unrelated to connectivity, and since your
wife's machine appears to work via the DW6000, I agree that it is most likely
your computer rather than something related to your new connection method.

That said, have you made any of the changes that are recommended on BroadBand
Reports for machines being used with DirecWay? None of the changes, properly
made, should result in the problems you report, but if something ELSE somehow
got hosed in the process...

Have you added any new hardware or software recently? (The DW6000 doesn't
count; unlike with the DW4000 there is nothing installed on your computer for
it.)

Have you looked through the control panel for any indications of problems?

Can you get a full boot into safe mode?

Try clearing history, temporary internet files, cookies, etc. in case you have
something stuck in there that is causing a problem.

I assume you probably had/have an antivirus program with up to date signatures,
but it wouldn't hurt to do an online scan as another check. There is a good one
at:

http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp but several of the
antivirus companies have them.

Have you run programs such as AdAware or Spybot recently to insure you don't
have an unwanted guest on your system?

If you can't find anything else indicating your problem, you might consider
doing a Systems Restore to a restore point before you started having problems.

That should keep you busy for a while, and most likely someone else here will
have some more ideas...

Best of luck.

Subject: [WINHOME] Deep Trouble - Booting

Hi Folks,

I'm in a real mess and don't know where to start.

Yesterday I started having problems sending attachments via PMail. Now
it's worse....I can't even send messages.

I think my system is messed up because I'm having trouble booting up.
Sometimes it won't completely boot up and the hour-glass is displayed
forever. I have to "turn off" and re-boot again. Sometimes it boots up a
little farther, but doesn't show the task bar at the bottom.....not even
the START box.

I have talked with my mail-server and they say it's on my end. Probably,
but I can't even access my mail by going direct to the server via IE. I
can get to their site, but when I click on "check mail" it says page can't
be displayed.

Right now my system is defragging although it didn't need it. I'm using
my wife's computer to send this and it's a pain sending directly from my
server's site. BTW, I "can" access my mail via her machine, so I know
there is a problem with mine.

One more thing: two days ago I switched from wireless microwave to
DirecWay Satellite. I have no idea where to start. I've exhausted all
the avenues I know to try.
