Change in approach to your problem :
Analysis of the space usage..

Try Treesize, and/or Sequoiaview to get a report/view of the space usage on
your system

I occasionally use both - Treesize for a summary, and Sequoiaview (in
Squarial) view to see the file sizes etc.

Subject: Soft: Suddenly - well slowly I am losong Hdd space?

Hi Folks

Now I have this problem of installing everything I use - strange custom I
know but there you have it.

A few months ago I had about 30% on my OS drive free (10.6Gb free of 40Gb)
now I have only 1.6Gb from out of 40Gb.

I have not installed any overly large progs and have deleted the SP2 files.
There are no documents or pictures on C: except for those installed with
programs.

Earlier problems I have encountered is with D: where I keep or download
files to. Often this reads that I have only 10Gb left out of 23Gb but then
slowly drops to 10Mb. No matter how much I empty old files and defrag it
still reads 10Mb left. I copied the whole drive to another drive and
reformatted D: then copied all the files back to find they only took 8Gb
out of 23Gb whereas before the exercise they read 22.9Gb out of 23.4Gb.

Q. have I only got 1.6Gb left on C: or is it reading wrong?

Q2 If reading/recording wrong can I do a similar exercise as before with
D:?

Q3 Backup and restore would only give the same problems?

Q4 Any resolutions and help would be welcome?
