Aloha Wayne,

I whole-heartily agree about FDD's being dead!

I bought a new laptop, two years ago, that came with a USB FDD. The FDD
is still in the sealed plastic bag it came in; It's never been used...

I got a external floppy with my laptop that plugs into where my external dvd-rom drive does. I've left the floppy drive in the nice little carrying case it came with from Dell & haven't used it once in 5 yrs even tho the laptop had 98se on it. I wiped it & reclaimed all the space on the drive right after I got it then installed XP after I downloaded the updated drivers. Since then I've imaged the drive numerous times.

That 'DOS is dead' is something I'm not sure of.

Make up my mind will ya? <LOL>

It may be dead as far as being a general purpose operating system but
some people seem to find it very useful for some special purposes.
I think, in the latter sense, it still lives on...

Even in the later case I use my XpPe Cd instead. Heck, I burn many more DVDs than CDs these days & wonder how long it will be before we see new systems coming with DVD instead of CDrom drives.

Anyway, have a wonderful day!

Why thank you I will even tho it's my better half's birthday. ;-)
