I used FAT16 for the 95A,  FAT32 for the Me -

Wanted to be able to access the new OS partition from the backup of the old
OS

Wheee! just look at that yellow stripe

NTFS - no reason not to use it
No reason to use it unless you need to handle files bigger than 4GB (DVD
ISO's perhaps)

Don't forget to consider turning off content indexing - its effectively the
same as the old fastfind/findfast.
but you get to it via the partition properties

I try to limit my partitions to 50GB approx for NTFS and 30 for FAT32
It makes space usage monitoring/control, backup defrag  and general
partition management etc. easier
OS partition needs about 12Gb free space if you are playing with DL DVD's -
so make that partition 20GB +
