It must be mad cow disease, but every website I read about networking
confuses me further.
This is again about my wife's (non-profit, as in "if they had any money,
do you think they would be asking me to do this stuff?") work LAN.
They have about 6-7 PCs running XP, W2K and maybe W98. They are all
Ethernetted to a router/switch and they all have Internet access.
My wife has a large collection of files that she would like to transfer
to a W2K computer from her XP machine. I thought that a network
transfer would be easier than (ugh!!) floppies or CDs. Right now, if I
go to Network Neighborhood on any of the computers on th LAN, I see no
other computers.
(Do I need NetBEUI? I don't think so but some sites say I do.)
I think I can use the wizard in XP to get things started and I think I
can copy the settings to the W2K computer.
I have to set up an account on each computer for the other user, right?
What have I forgotten to ask? :-)
If anyone knows of an accurate, simple step-by-step website, I'd be
forever indebted.

Age is not a particularly interesting subject. Anyone can get old. All you have to do is live long enough.
