The hum is probably from an earth loop or poor earth.  You must make 
sure that all the chassis of the various bits of equipment are at the 
same potential.  Ideally zero.  Any slight difference will be fed into 
the amp and cause the hummmmmm.

I would start with the computer earth, make sure that it is plugged into 
the same outlet as the amplifier.  If I recall you can reverse the plug 
in the socket, you may find that the cure is as simple as that !!
