What you are seeing is an Outlook peculiarity. It combines the
'From' header and the 'Sender' header to come up with that
"on behalf of" expression. My Outlook Express only shows the 'From'
address, and I'm guessing that most other email clients behave
similar to OE in this regard.
There is no primary address setting in Gmail. Gmail's SMTP server
simply takes whatever email address you send from, and uses that as
the 'From' address, as long as that address is on your Gmail list of
registered accounts.
As usual Gary is correct.
Next are the headers when I send via Eudora from [EMAIL PROTECTED] via
Gmail's SMTP
To: Wayne D. Johnson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
From: Wayne Johnson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Subject: more testing
Sender: Wayne Johnson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
FWIW this is not my default address that I have listed in my Gmail's
preference.
As long as my from address is correct then this & other lists
shouldn't have any problems & if you're reading this then what I just
stated is true because I'm sending this via Eudora from
[EMAIL PROTECTED] via Gmail's SMTP.
