Jim, I used xxcopy.exe e:*.* f:e_stuff_2006_02_08 /s /h /k (it seems xxcopy
/? has different switches than xcopy).

Where is the log file that's created Wayne?  I might look at it and copy the
failed ones.  Given that I booted from D and ran the program from there, one
wouldn't think that it would affect E or F in any way... would one?
