This board was only about 1 year old and had DDR pc3200 memory 2x 512
MB. The replacement
is nearly the same, some components are by different mfgs. The old one
had 6 USB connectors, and
the new oneonly has 4 but this wont be a problem since I only use 2 most
of the time. They both have
IEEE 1394 2 ports each. Computers are a problem that gets worse all the
time, the new parts you
bring home are outdated before you get them in the computer!
Thank You Joe Harrison

Hi,
Go for a new board! See my post about caps a few weeks back. This kind
of fault can be fixed, but I see no reason not to change a 5- or
6-year-old mobo! OK, so you have to buy a new CPU & RAM to make it
run, but you have a fresh machine, good for another few years!
