Hi,
Not sure if it was the up or the down arrow, but back in '68 at Burroughs,
we called one of them a "south-bound chicken"!
I was reminded of this recently when reading Stephen King's (no relation!)
excellent "Hearts in Atlantis", where the nuclear disarmament symbol
(semaphore N + D) was described as chicken tracks.
