80-column cards in an Apple? Are you sure?
Yes 80 column cards. See
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_80_column_card>. I help a
structural engineer buddy of mine install one. About the same time
period I was fooling around with a Mattel Intelivision that was
suppose to come out with a keyboard & when it never did I wired my
own. I also had worked with a TRS80 then got a Rainbow Plus which
served me well until I bought my first Tandon/Tandy [IBM 100%
compatible] PC at RS in Johnson City, TN while at the office I worked
with structural analysis apps on a Sperry Univac & one of the 1st
Integraph CADD terminals. Later I added to the Tandon an AST 6 pack
plus & was flying with 2 meg of ram, a 72meg HD & replaced the cpu
with an NEC V20 that got me up to a whopping 10mhz and all was well
as this meant that I didn't need an IBM 286.
As far as parts go, I don't want any stinken parts as I've got enough
old, old [versus just plain old] parts to build several machines if
they were just compatible. I've donated more systems to charity than
I have in my house. Too bad there are almost none of these parts that
I can put in the AMD X2 4400+ system that I hope to be assembling shortly.
