Subject: HARD: cdrw's invisible
why would a friend's PC NOT be able to see blank cdrws, but it can once
I have burnt something to them? Both Windows & Nero fail to
see the blanks, but once he CAN see the cd/files, he still can't erase
the disk, either in windows or Nero ? Dodgy cable ?

when my first xp home updated version was installed +-5 yrs ago the cd drives
would not read the blank preformatted
verbatim cd rw discs -they were factory formatted for win 95/98- they had to be
reformatted with windows xp/easycd
before they would work properly - Wayne will likely add to this because he has
mentioned many times how roxio really
screwed up with the initial xp/roxio connection
but they would read the data that i had put on some disks but i could not write
to them -- i had to copy and paste the
material to HD then reformat to make them writeable
dont know if this info will help you or not
