Just want to clarify -- you de-soldered the IDE header on the mobo
and soldered in a new one? Weren't you worried a bit about voiding
the warranty? Personally, when it gets to that level, I send it
back, or trash it. Interesting outcome though.
FYI - on my first A7N8X-E, the stability problems persisted
no matter whether I put the OS onto a PATA drive or a SATA drive.
