This is getting to be a pain in the rear. This update was nothing more than
installing, or re-installing, that damned validation tool. M$ should know
that your copy is genuine if it has checked it before. The tool leaves a
whole bunch of crap in IE and the registry that it can quickly draw from. I
think they are just updating to counter the script kiddies that are
circumventing their protection. It, now, really drags out the update
process, even with broadband. I fell sorry for the dial-up folks.
