AS M$ becomes more and more intrusive I've just gone to AUTOPATCHER for my updates. May not be as quick as M$ but I don't get the feeling I'm being bugged (like spyware) by the KGB. I usually just dl and slap the Autopatcher files on a thumb drive and do my dial-up friends PC a favor when I drop by their place. Of course I run several AVs on it before using it, haven't found anything yet. Not advocating it, just FYI, especially if you got high speed Inet and they use dial-up.
