This can easily happen. At work, someone unplugged our wireless router,
but my biz partner just kept working ... I asked him to check his wireless
connection, and it turned out he'd inadvertently found the connection
kindly left open by the business on the floor below us. Personally, I
disable "automatically find a connection", but for those who frequent
coffee shops it is a more convenient default.
