True. But don't forget the building "lighting rods". :)
For consumers though, a reasonable data line surge protector is
good enough. It should do a reasonable job for other than
direct or nearly direct hits. APC has a good insurance policy
with most of their products. As always those data backups are
*the* best protection, provided those same backups are
themselves properly protected !
