Charles, when you say it "shuts down" - does it power off, reboot to the
BIOS,
go into a hard loop? Or does the screen just go blank? Can it boot into
Safe Mode? Have you tried booting with logging to possibly get a handle
on where things are going wrong? Have you set the BIOS settings to
"safe settings"?
(It might also be a good a idea to run memtest86 for a 1/2 hour/so.)
