The other things in common are the monitor, keyboard and mouse. I've
seen problems with wireless keyboards and mice (though the keyboard
probs. are usually detected), and more recently with the vid. monitor
losing sync. Doesn't sound like that's what's going on here, but
something to keep in mind.
Also, the power supply was mentioned as one of the
components that was swapped out. And the cables to the hard drive.
Both of those can be a source of intermittent failure.
