I think that this was on the back of a rogue employee in a branch of UK Bank
"National Westminster" part of "RBS" group who sold on account info but didn't
affect UK account holders.

Many many scams have emanated from this incident and others like it - many from
the far east.

I really don't think any Bank would compromise themselves in this way and if
they were compromised you would NOT be notified by email - snail mail yes but
not email.
