I agree, but have older systems that require Fat32 support on a portable HD...

I never do anything with files that big (over 4G), and like to split my 
archive/back-up,
image program files to smaller chunks of 700M... Ghost always did that, and 
Acronis
TI makes it even easier...   This allows me to stick them on standard data 
CD-Rs OR
DVDs with no special additional file system restrictions. (No UDF needed.)
My current DVD burn file size limitation is 2G, due to the way I burn -- ISO 
9960+Joliet.
