I'm really kinda thinking they BETTER make them backward compatable.
What HD Manufacturer and Model?
Hooked to a MB, or add-in controller card?
It might make a difference.
FWIW/OTOH, I got a Maxtor (Promise) add-in controller card recently
for SATA/150PCI and "that" can no longer support CD drives... (Bummer.)
It has (2) SATA/150 and (1) IDE sockets.
