Rick, I have the same set up. I just used the motherboard's ide
interface and plugged my dvd writer into it.

FWIW/OTOH, I got a Maxtor (Promise) add-in controller card recently
for SATA/150PCI and "that" can no longer support CD drives... (Bummer.)
It has (2) SATA/150 and (1) IDE sockets.
