Hi Marc,
There is already an Ethernet cable attached to the FP reader, so I won't
need a USB adapter, & in any case, there's nowhere to load a driver!
Thanks to this list, I have 2 things to try (one via the sounding-board
effect!). With the power line adapters, I will have to remember to put them
on the same phase.
Regards,

Since it has a USB interface do this:
Connect a USB cable with a RJ-45 end adapter and connect an ethernet cable
from the finger-print reader to the wifi router and install a wifi card
into the PC.

Hi Marc,
There is no Wifi or Bluetooth functionality in the FP reader. It does have
a
USB interface, but only for loading its IP address from a memry stick. All
it can handle is a simple TCP/IP-based protocol.
We just (ha!) need something to replace 20 meters of cable with a
thru-the-air deal.
(blinding flash of light in my brain!) OR a thru-the-power-network deal!
I'll borrow a couple of these adapters from a friend, & try them!
