The "won't power up" problem sounds like a dead lithium cell (personal
experience). If you have a docking station, is it OK in that?
All my LT power supplies give a flash at some time when plugging into the
wall. I think it's to do with the in-rush current + connecting at a peak.

Wasn't it Diane that said she liked them? I just worked on one [not for
long] because the thing wouldn't power up when plugged into any AC outlet
with or without battery in it. The lights on the front don't come on at
all. Of course it's only a couple months past it's 1yr warranty
expiration.
Gee, is it bad when the thing arcs while plugging the AC adapter into the
laptop? ;-)
