Go back to the basics first.
Carl has listed them here before and I will try now...
(His list was a little fuller than mine last time,
so I hope I don't leave stuff out...)
I hope you have not been changing jumpers on the MB...
Even if not, if you can, go over them with a fine toothed comb.
But be REALLY sure they are wrong if you have not changed
any recently, or since it was still working...
Parts needed.
PS, MB, video - (embedded or a card), monitor, CPU, RAM.
Sometimes power (only) to an HD to kick start the PS...
And a keyboard, so you can "do stuff" in the BIOS,
should you get that far...
You might need RAM in pairs, maybe not. Specific to
your MB... Add as little as you can at first, try different
ones if nothing works...
If you freeze in the BIOS after several minutes, it could be
a heat related problem, or a VERY voltage sensitive CPU...
If you can get in the BIOS and look at all the settings
and NOT freeze, you can take more steps from there...
In the past, I have had to under-clock a CPU or lower the
core voltage slightly (1/10 of a volt, or one setting...)
Additional, optional, after getting "something" working...
A floppy drive as a boot device, and a Win98 boot floppy...
Add Data cable on a known working HD with at least data on it.
Boot from the floppy first and just "look at" the HD.
If it is FAT32 (or less) you should be able to read it...
After I got this far, I'd add a mouse and try to boot off
the HD... (If it was working as above, and was orginally
installed as the boot drive of this computer in the past...)
