NOT TRUE & may I ask where you got this information? I can view image
files in TC without IrfanView & not in just in binary mode & was doing so
long before I loaded IrfanView onto my system. FWIW TC uses windows dlls
files & had a problem with WMF files because of a buffer overflow created
by them that was fixed on 12-30-2005 if you care to read the history file
that comes with TC when you download it. IrfanView uses many of Windows
DLLs as well. If you must know the only reason I loaded IrfanView was
because it handled thumbnails before TC could & the reason for this is
that TC uses Windows DLLs for the thumbnails as well.
Just because TC gives one the option to use IrfanView does NOT mean it
can't view image files. OBTW if you go to IrfanView
Options/Properties/Extensions you'll see that many of the images it
displays are via plugins as well & these plugins may or may not be from
IrfanView.
The OP does not need IrfanView to view multiple images at once in TC. If
the OP does then I need new glasses because I'm must be imagining the
images that I'm looking at.
Please site your source.
Woah there Wayne, no need to get so upset. I just called it like I saw it. I
have a copy of TC loaded with no extras. When you initially said TC would do
this I went and tried it but all it would do is display graphics files(jpg,
gif, etc) in Binary mode, if I tried to select the Image/Multimedia option
it would just flick back to Binary.
I then checked my Configuration and selected the option to "Use
Irfanview/Xnview to load graphics files other than BMP". I knew I didn't
have Irfanview installed and it made no difference. So I went and downloaded
Irfanview, installed it, and pointed TC to where the exe was and lo and
behold it would now view the graphics files, although not by default I still
had to select Image/Multimedia after opening Lister. If I unselect the
Irfanview option it exhibits the previous behavior and will only display the
images in binary mode.
I saw your post and noticed you had the Irfanview option selected, too. What
happens when you unselect that option and try to view a jpg file with the
lister viewer?
