Fine !  If you are sure that the drive is jumpered correctly, then the 
drive is faulty !   A confirmation of this would be to stick the drive 
into another machine and re-run the Maxtor tools !

A caveat here, I don't recall your previous posts !  So this is based 
solely on the information given in the post that I replied to !
