The 3ms is good but the 550:1 is not as good as some I have seen like 700 or 800. What does each give me? I'm not a gamer but occasionally I do Doom or CIV and I'll watch a DVD or two. Do I understand correctly that response time is what stops the tearing and jerkiness of video and contrast ratio is just the graininess of the screen? 1280X1024 is not very high either I run my 17" laptop at 1440X900 and I can not remember what my desktops 19" screen is but it is up there. I'm trying to get some real estate back on my desk at home.
