I didn't mean to imply that the monitor was "at fault". This LCD monitor
works fine with the proper brightness for my excel and ALL else except
pictures. I thought it was the pictures on some until I changed the pictures
for viewing on the monitor and then they printed too light. The, before
changing, look fine when I play on my TV with smart card socket. I was
wondering how to have both show properly without messing with monitor
settings each time to view pictures.
My other computer is inconveniently packed away unless this one fails.
I'm waiting for vista/new office before buying a new computer or asking the
box builders on this list to give me a bid (pls contact me privately). Then,
this one will be networked with the new.

Check the monitor with another computer or another display card?
I wouldn't expect to find the monitor at fault unless everything was
darker
than usual.

Would love to see a similar deal on a widescreen, maybe 21"
cuz my present Dell UltraSharp 1905FP 19-inch Flat Panel that I paid a LOT
of money for ($422 incl tax/shipping Jan 2005)does not show photographs
properly.
(way too dark in most cases). Is there a cure for this?
