I would be so incredibly scared if my IE suddenly quit working on a computer
I use to do online banking. Change those bank passwords from the other
computer ASAP.

Then, in IE, Tools, Internet Options:
1. Click on the Programs tab.
2. Click Reset Web Settings.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Under Browsing, UN-check Enable 3rd Party Browser Extensions.
5. Click OK.

Go to Spybot S&D (you may have done some of this already):
1. Select Immunize and then click on the +Immunize button.
2. Click Mode and then select Advanced Mode
3. Click Tools, and place a check-mark in the box for Hosts File. Click the
Hosts File button that appears on the left. Delete any hosts which do not
have a destination of 127.0.0.1.
4. Click the ActiveX button on the left. Leave the green check-marked items
alone. Click each ActiveX item with a red mark and then click Remove. For
all the rest, click on them and click Toggle.
5. Click the BHOs button on the left. Leave the green items alone. Remove
items with a red mark, and Toggle all other items.

If that's no help scan for scumware with AVG Antispyware (Ewido). Download
it, update it, reboot to safe mode, scan.

Subject: Internet Explorer hangs!

Running XP PRO SP1

Something happened to internet explorer. It is acting very buggy. I have
not upgraded to IE7.

Last night, I ran a full scan of system for virus. Nothing found.

I have the latest updates to Spybot Search & Destroy--no problems found
after running.
I have the latest updates to Adaware--no problems found after running.
I have the latest updates to Spyware Blaster--no problems found.

I've deleted all cookies, history files, and temporary internet files.

I found the problem while trying to access my online bank. After working
with the bank folks via phone, they stated it was the browser. Indeed,
after not getting access via my machine, I used my wife's machine and had no
problems. So, I went looking for help by going to the Windows update site.
When I try to access Windows update, Internet Explorer hangs....badly.

So here is my question....How do I get IE working correctly when I can even
update? How can I restore IE? What tricks am I missing? I thought about
removing via Add/Remove programs, but I don't see it in the list....Does
that make sense?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Randy
