So, I'm confused. What is supposed to be the benefit of a "new and
improved IE" if it doesn't work with the sites that you need to access
on a daily basis?

Well I thought I'd finally try ie7. I shied away from the beta and rc
versions. The final release should be okay, right! NOT!! After
installing it
and opening it the first time I noticed how slow it opened my home page,
but
figured it was doing some initialization routines behind the scenes. I
opened a new tab and went to another page I use frequently only to find
it
wouldn't work with ie7 and I received a notice to download ie5.5 or ie6
to
proceed. So I closed that and opened another site. Before the site was
fully
displayed ie7 was locked up. It wouldn't close the tab and I had to
force
close the whole app.

I tried again, it opened with my default home page and again was very
slow
displaying the whole page. I opened a new tab and went to another site
which
opened ok, again slowly. Within a few minutes ie was locked up again.
Force
closed and let's try one more time. (I guess I'm a glutton for
punishment)!

Again it opened my default page slowly. I opened a new tab and then
tried to
close it and it wouldn't close, mistakenly clicked the new tab button
and
now I had 3 tabs open. I tried closing the 2 additional tabs and they
wouldn't close and I ended up opening another. None of the tabs would
close
and ie wouldn't even force close, so I had to use the old standby,
reboot.

Did that and uninstalled ie7 and I'm back to ie6 once again. I won't be
travelling down that road again anytime soon. What a POS, to be a final
release. In my mind this product is still a beta!
