I have made the changes suggested by several members, to AVG and to
MS firewall. I can now see and manipulate the files from the desktop
( running windows xp pro) to the laptop ( running windows xp). I
cannot go from laptop to desktop. Any additional suggestions?

off both firewalls but they still are not seen. Do I need to
specifically tell AVG which computers to pass through? Both AVG
profiles are set to standalone .
Is there someplace else that I need to set permissions to get these
to see each other?

both computers are HP (dt is compaq lt pavilion ).
I have tried talking to Linksys and they were very helpful to set
up internet connection but cannot help with Lan setup.
