Then if history serves me right of what Microsoft did with the domination of
MS-DOS during the early 80's to late 90's and with Windows from 3.0 to the
present with Windows XP then they'll do the same thing to other distros of
linux.

I'm not being hyper here just stating the facts from history.

Look at what happend to IBM DOS which had a long history from its start in the
the late 70's but then in the early 90's latter reborn in IBM PC DOS versions 6
and 7 only had a very brief existance in the early 90's it couldn't compete
with MS-DOS which had a long history from 1980. Digital Research had DR-DOS
which had its start in the late 70's until DR-DOS 5 in 1991, then later DR-DOS
6 became Novell DOS 7 when Novell aquired Digital Research to make Novell DOS 7
compete against MS-DOS 6.21 and 6.22 in 1993 - 1994 in 1994 Novel DOS was no
more becuase Microsoft built AARD code (so named after the first initials of
the 4 developers who wrote the code) into Windows 3.1 to prevent Novell DOS
from running under Windows 3.1. Which is why Novell DOS 7 never got anywhere
beyond the market share of MS-DOS 6.21. and 6.22. It was latter aquired by
Caldera in 1994 and became OpenDOS and from there Novell DOS 7 died a quite
death.

When Windows 95 was released on August 25, 1995 many analyst predicted the
death of MS-DOS but its was too premature a prediction to make and it lived on
until Windows XP was released and when that happended MS DOS died.

When I had Novell DOS 7 and WIndows 3.1 on my PC at the time I got it to run
under Windows 3.1 which to me appeared to be all but a bogus claim made by
Microsoft just to scare users off from Novell DOS 7 back to MS-DOS 6.21 and
6.22 which was a very clever marketing stragedy by Microsoft and it worked.
After I had gotten Windows 95 I dumped Novell DOS 7 altogether and stuck with
Windows 95 instead.
The as the years passed I ran WIndows 98, 98 SE, 2000 except for ME which I
skipped and waited for WIndows XP instead. Ever since after WIndows 2000 then
I,ve been running Windows XP and as of DOS AFAIC what's that? I haven't been
using DOS since Windows XP.

With Microsoft's ever dominant position in this industry its no question that
given this pattern of domination through aquiring similar products they'll soon
take suse, mandrake and the rest.

If M$ took over RedHat, what about the other distros of Linux?
